For instance, I have links pointing directly to:
<http://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/html/openSUSE/opensuse-startup/cha.update.html> Chapter 16. Upgrading the System and System Changes
This is redirected to:
<http://activedoc.opensuse.org/book/opensuse-start-up>
which is the main page, not the intended destination. Using the search box for the chapter title does not find it.
Tomas fixed the search engine meanwhile. Now the correct chapter should come up as the first result, if you paste the chapter title.
The correct redirection is now:
Having doc.opensuse.org out of commision breaks posts made in forums and places where they can not be altered. Please reinstate, or create full redirections.
Good point. I am currently not sure how to implement a full set of correct deep link redirects. One option is to harvest the apache logs and implement what is being used most. cheers, JW- -- o \ Juergen Weigert paint it green! __/ _=======.=======_ <V> | jw@suse.de back to ascii! __/ _---|____________\/ \ | 0911 74053-508 say #263A!__/ (____/ /\ (/) | _____________________________/ _/ \_ vim:set sw=2 wm=8 SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, J.Guild, F.Imendoerffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg), Maxfeldstrasse 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany SuSE.
