[uyuni-devel] IMPORTANT: All packages bumped to 4.2.0 version, and impact on your PRs

Hi everyone. All package SPEC files in the master branch of this repository are now updated to be '4.2.0' version. All developers need to keep the following things in mind: 1. Please rebase this PR against `master`branch and fix any conflicts. 2. If this PR includes schema upgrades, change the directory for the migration scripts to the **correct one**. At this precise moment it is `schema/ spacewalk/upgrade/susemanager-schema-4.2.0-to-susemanager-schema-4.2.1` but it could be a different one if this PR is still open after Uyuni 2020.08 is released. Hello everyone! We are happy to announce the immediate availability of Uyuni 2020.07 At https://www.uyuni-project.org/pages/stable-version.html you will find all the resources you need to start working with Uyuni 2020.07, including the release notes, documentation, requirements and setup instructions. IMPORTANT: Keep in mind Uyuni 2020.07 changes the base OS to openSUSE Leap 15.2, so a special procedure is needed for this upgrade! Check the release notes and the documentation for all the details This is the list of highlights for this release: * Salt 3000.0 * New "mgrcompat.module_run" custom compatibility state for Salt is available for registered systems. * PostgreSQL 12 * Base System Upgrade * New products enabled * Ubuntu 20.04 LTS * hwdata vendor change for openSUSE Leap 15.1 clients Please check the release notes for full details. Remember that Uyuni will follow a rolling release planning, so the next version will contain bugfixes for this one and any new features. As you know, we are now moving Master to Leap 15.2, so Leap 15.1 repositories are not needed anymore. I am going to remove them, as that way we also save OBS resources. [uyuni-devel] Master will start using openSUSE Leap 15.2 today

Hi everyone, Uyuni 2020.07 will be using openSUSE Leap 15.2 as a base system. Because of that, we are going to change https://build.opensuse.org/project/ show/systemsmanagement:Uyuni:Master as well as our infrastructure to use Leap 15.2 (right it still uses 15.1). You can expect some breakage for a few days until. As soon as Uyuni is installable on top of openSUSE Leap 15.2, I will make an announcemente here so yo can start testing, and then I will update the website. At that point you will be able to help us testing migrations fro Stable (do NOT migrate your Uyuni on production, setup a stable server, then migrat to master) or Master on top of Leap 15.2 itself. Since them, even without pushing people for people to use Gitter, we noticed that most of discussions are now happening there. Hi everyone, As discussed today at the Uyuni Community Hours, there are some opportunities for all the community to contribute back. You do not really need to be a developer, as you can also help with translation, documentation, or even design. Even with the website! Here are the topics that were proposed: - Translations: UI, documentation (no coding skills required) - Learning pills (articles, videos) - Salt formulas, forms: Active Directory authentication, Samba, Web Server... (no real coding skills required) - Import Debian and Ubuntu patches ("errata") information. - Debian autoinstallation: preseed support - Amazon Linux 2 repository syncing (requires adding sqlite support) - Virtual host gatherers for your favourite cloud or virtualizaton platform - Implemente GPG key management RFC - Content mirroring and statging - Virtualization enhacements: network configuration, snapshots management, PXE boot... - Support for more operating systems: MS Windows, Mac, Android... - LSP support in file viewers / editors (e.g. Eclipse Theia / Microsoft Monaco) - Integrate create-your-own-dashboard framework. Those are just some examples, so if you want to do something else, feel free to bring it forward.
