Why games should go to games repo? I don't see anything in contrib wiki about this. Exist any reason why doesn't accept games? I think that all third party package should go to contrib. I think that it makes sense for games to be both in contrib and games repository. Contrib will be frozen and some basic quality will be guaranteed because all packages must past through the review. So as conservative user I may prefer to use contrib repository knowing that it should be more safe then other repos. And as a average user contrib will be probably the first or second repo I will add so I'll be happy to find my favorite game in it. On the other hand if I want the newest version available and I'm not so conservative I will use games repo which is not frozen on every release and which may contain games which will never make it to the contrib. And I think that games repo can be used as devel project for games in contrib. But this is only my personal opinion. So I'm voting for accepting good quality games in contrib. -- Michal Hrusecky -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org

Yes, that was my idea. Games have usually very short release cycle and I wanted to put the game into "games" repo first (I talked with submit requester about that). It makes sense to move good/well known games into Contrib and link them back to "games" after some time. PS: Another reason for putting into "games" repo was package size - 400 MB. If we had 20 games in Contrib like this, it would need 2 DVDs to distribute. -- Best Regards / S pozdravom, Pavol RUSNAK SUSE LINUX, s.r.o Package Maintainer Lihovarska 1060/12 PGP 0xA6917144 19000 Praha 9, CR prusnak[at]suse.cz http://www.suse.cz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org

I agree. To all reviewers: please do not use this reason for dropping, unless it will be discussed here and documented on wiki. I suppouse that main goal of Contrib is reduce an amount of projects in BuildService ;-) Michal vyskocil -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org

Not the amount of projects, but the amount of repos a regular user needs Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org
