OpenSUSE 11.1 repository
Hi all packagers, I am maintaining a kernel module in the Contrib repository. With the recent kernel update for 11.1 I have noticed that the module's package does not get rebuilt (and therefore the automatic update refuses to update the kernel). Shouldn't we add "openSUSE:11.1:Update" to the list of "source repositories" (or whatever is the right name) for "openSUSE:Factory:Contrib/openSUSE_11.1"? Yes, of course. I added the Update repo. But please remember, that this is just temporary and later openSUSE:Factory:Contrib will not contain any repos against older versions.

Thank you, this should work now... But -I'm just thinking- is there any point in keeping the non-updated 'Contrib/openSUSE_11.1' repository? Isn't it just wasting resources now? There is no good reason, no. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org

Allright, changed it, so now we have only openSUSE_11.1 repo (which is including updates). Is there any policy about this? I think that majority of projects use repositories without Updates. -- Best Regards / S pozdravom, Pavol RUSNAK SUSE LINUX, s.r.o Package Maintainer Lihovarska 1060/12 PGP 0xA6917144 19000 Praha 9, CR prusnak[at]suse.cz http://www.suse.cz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org

For most this is unimportant, since the ABIs do not change. Only for the ones with Kernel Modules there is any issue at this time. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org
