You are now a maintainer of gtranslator in
openSUSE:Factory:Contrib Hi, seems like I'm not the maintainer of the gtranslator? I'm not in the maintainer list of the package. :(

Hi, seems like I'm not the maintainer of the gtranslator? I'm not in the maintainer list of the package. :(
Maintainer of all packages from GNOME:Contrib is Vincent Untz, because he created a submit request. I don't know what development process do you have in GNOME:Contrib, so please contact him. He is able to add you as a maintainer also in also in openSUSE:Factory:Contrib. Actually, for GNOME:Contrib packages, we want the GNOME team to be maintainer, not individuals. So while I'm the maintainer according to the metadata, it's not true. However, I don't think the right thing to do is to add all members of the GNOME team as maintainers of those package: the workflow is to submit changes to GNOME:Contrib, and the experienced members of the team are reviewing those changes, and then pushing the update to oS:F:Contrib. (fwiw, this is the same model as the one we use for GNOME:Factory and oS:F) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org

Oh, btw: feedback on this workflow is welcome. It's working great for G:F, which is why it's what we want to do for G:Contrib. Our packages are of good quality and it doesn't add a lot of delay either (except in rare cases, like gobby in G:F which is because we don't know how to handle the update). So is there anything to change in Contrib? I see that vuntz is a maintainer of all packages in GNOME:Contrib.

Well, we'd need a feature in the build service to mark a team as maintainer :-) Until then, it doesn't really matter who is marked as the maintainer of the various packages -- all the development should be done in GNOME:Contrib anyway, and the people who we think are experienced enough are marked as maintainer of GNOME:Contrib. Alright, that makes sense. In other words, I should submit a request in order to update gtranslator in the future? :) --- Ray Wang (王磊) Software Engineer rawang@novell.com +86 10 6533 9220 Novell Software (Beijing) Ltd Making IT Work As One www.novell.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org
