[opensuse-conference] Machinery: Usability tests at OSC15
Hi guys, As the machinery team at SUSE is looking for an option to get even more in touch with the community, we'd like to perform some usability tests during the conference. Thomas and Cornelius will be there (the accepted talk is Machinery - A Systems Management Toolkit for Linux ), but in order to perform the test we'd need a little room or some space to direct the interested users to. Is there a room we could use for this? We'll need it only for few hours, so it doesn't necessary have to be available for the entire conference. If you need any more details or clarifications, please feel free to ping me anytime. Thanks! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Hi Frederica, Sounds like a great idea! Just a couple of questions from my end: - - does it have to be a dedicated room or could this happen in a dev room? - - does the room have any other specific requirements (light, network, sound, etc)? Looking forward to cooperate with you on this! It doesn't necessarily have to be a separate room, as long as the "test user" can focus enough on what is going on on the screen.
- does the room have any other specific requirements (light, network, sound, etc)?
Network could be *very* useful, as we could setup some remote resources. If not possible (or expected to be not reliable/slow) we could make the whole environment virtualized/local. Only thing is, we would need to know if there is or there isn't connectivity just to prepare things accordingly. Apart from that, perhaps would be great if we could avoid scheduling this at the very beginning or end of the conference so to maximise the attendees.
Looking forward to cooperate with you on this!
Thanks a lot for helping me out with this! bye, Federica -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Hi Frederica! I'd like to suggest to do this on Sunday. As Saturday will already be very busy with the Kolab Summit and their extra Open Source Healthcare track. Regarding the network, we expect it to work well enough for normal surfing and social media, but if you expect to need any real download bandwidth we can't make any guarantees. So please have a plan B ready. Anything else, please let me know!
