[opensuse-conference] interviews
Heya folks, So I'll do a skype interview with the first speaker on the Future Media track and Helen will talk to Shane. Now, who wants to talk to Ramon Roca who is building a free broadband network in Spain (!!!) or one of the other interesting folks at http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Conference_Interviews ;-) Pick one, let me know and I'll get you in contact with them, help you get questions to them, and help you get your article on news.opensuse.org!!! Hugs, Jos

Article interviewing is definitely not my area of expertise. But if you're willing to help with questions, I think this is a skill worth learning for anyone and I'll gladly take this on as a learning experience. Thanks for the offers, folks. As you can see on the page, there are some tips on how to do these interviews, incl sample questions: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Conference_Interviews Ilias, go ahead and get that interview with Ramon done and send the results to me please, I will publish it asap ;-) Bryen, Interviews are easy, especially by text. Find the mail address of the person in question, ask them if they are OK with an interview and send them the questions. Then polish the results (maybe ask follow-up questions but that is rarely needed) and DONE. Asking for a picture is a bonus (!!!) Please, pick someone who seems interesting to you, either from the schedule directly or from the wiki page, and go ahead... Hugs, Jos On Monday 01 October 2012 15:33:55 Ilias R. wrote:

Hi Jos, please route the communication to keynote speakers through Alexia so we make sure we have a single point of contact with every speaker. she will communicate who is going to get in contact with who, for what, at what time.... let's make sure we do not send several e-mails from several people for different reasons to the same keynote speaker. We already are sending them several communications. The above is a general approach..... On Friday 05 October 2012 12:01:01 Jos Poortvliet wrote:

The above is a general approach..... Sorry, we're tight on time and sending interview questions via Alexia would be entirely unpractical and weird. So if you don't mind, we just do the work asap now, that means directly. Heck, I don't even HAVE much plan - just DO now.
Hi I think that the project of Ramón Roca is this: - http://guifi.net/en/node/38392 "open, free an neutral internet network for everybody" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org
Hi, his project, "guifi.net" will surprise you. It is very mature and with amazing social implications. On Monday, October 01, 2012 10:14:45 PM Victor hck wrote:

Greetings fine ladies and gentlemen, Today was a glorious day since I heard the voice of our beloved Emperor in my head clearly directing me to this exact thread. Jokes aside I would be pretty interested in doing one or more interviews. I would prefer to do them on skype since it would be easier for me. I would also like to know if there are some fixed questions or we can improvise? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org

See the wiki page, it has some tips and possible questions: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Conference_Interviews Put your name behind a speaker you'd like to talk to! I will ensure you get a mail introducing you to the speaker for the interview. No promises that the speaker can do skype, you have to figure that out with them. /Jos
