[opensuse-conference] Badge ID Proposal
Hello I took a little time to create an idea for a badge. Please let me know if it works and what else can be added. I read on Trello that an idea is to have an A4 folded into parts with more data about the conference. Is there an old model that I can tweak? Hi, Theo took care of coordinating this task for oSC12. The result was positive. I would use it as a starting point. On Wednesday, January 30, 2013 08:31:40 AM Andy anditosan wrote:

Then I will continue tweaking the card. However, I need to know what else goes in the badge to form a more complete page. Thank you Andy (anditosan)

If we do something like last year, you'll need something which can be folded such that: - front and back show the same thing - inside has the schedule - there's room for emergency information (phone nr's) and basic conf info - there's a map with the most important places THEO, give us a link to an example please :D

This is exactly the things that was missing, we need just to update
the info and improve a little better in the design area.

I don't know why that idea is so persisting. Forget about the schedule on the badge. For osc12 it just doubled the price of printing and was outdated the moment we printed it. It was just a waste of time any money. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org
Hi,
- front and back show the same thing - inside has the schedule
I don't know why that idea is so persisting. Forget about the schedule on the badge. For osc12 it just doubled the price of printing and was outdated the moment we printed it. It was just a waste of time any money.
if the schedule is printed in the badge there are several considerations I would like to point out: 1.- The badge will become the primary source for consulting the schedule. Changes in the schedule must be announced live in every break, in every room. Last year this task was unaffordable. 2.- If the contents are going to be classified by technical level/language, etc., my suggestion is that it is also reflected in the badge version of the program. The way this is reflected in the website and in the badge might vary due to size constrains. In both cases, the info must be clear for the attendees. 3.- The name of the speaker, the topic of the talk or the project he/she is recognized for... are variables as useful for attendees as the title of the talk/workshop. I recommend to consider adding this information (or part of it) in the printed version of the program (in the badge). 4.- Putting in the badge just part of the schedule and not the whole one is not optimal. We faced this decision last year. My general recommendation is to play conservative. I hope this helps.
