[opensuse-conference] Sponsorship brochure needed
Hi all, With the motto, logo, theme, and other discussion we kind of let the work on a Sponsorship brochure slip through the cracks :( . Now we are a bit behind the 8 ball and as work on the conference announcement has progressed we just had a big "oh sh..." moment. Thus, this is an urgent call for one or more volunteers to crank out a Sponsorship brochure. The logo is in the bag, thus, there should be little artwork required to put the brochure together. Requirements: - Follow the basic ideas used for oSC11 and oSC12 - Put everything together and make it look nice in short order - After the initial draft is complete send things to this list for some feedback - Ask for help if you get stuck, we do not have much time Who is up to the challenge, please, please, please Thanks -- Robert Schweikert MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU SUSE-IBM Software Integration Center LINUX Tech Lead rjschwei@suse.com rschweik@ca.ibm.com 781-464-8147 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org

Hi, I already have that in my to do list for sometime now and I already have looked over past sponsors brochures. I am at the point where I am waiting for some feedback from Agustin regarding the money handling part. (And I should have that really soon - within the week) After that I will refine the text for the brochure for this year and I can provide a draft. What I really need is the complete artwork, which is mainly a background for the first page. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org
Hello Robert and other friends. I quite sure that Izabel already have one sponsorship brochure that we can use as a template. Maybe this can help. Izabel? 2013/1/21 Robert Schweikert <rjschwei@suse.com>:

As Stella said, there are older versions which can be used. I am also a big fan of this one: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/self-2012-prospectus.pdf (from SELF last year). That might work for us, too - the extensive one we used to have is a bit over the top, nobody reads it and let's be honest - we ALWAYS make custom deals anyway, so extensive lists of benefits and all that is not needed. What do you think, Stella, is this helpful? And Carlos, you might be able to make a design based on this one and text from Stella... /Jos

The pleasure would be all mine. I simply cannot do anything related to artwork. But I am happy to do the text :) @Jos: Thanks for the link, I didn't have that one! And yes, I agree the too detailed info is rather confusing than useful in the end. This layout is very interesting actually... I had in mind something multi-page so that we could also add info on openSUSE/conference, where is osc13 happening etc. On one hand, 1-page brochure is easier for potential sponsors to read, doesn't look like a boring book or anything. On the other hand, text is a bit small on this one. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org

Your call. I really like this, because, as I said, sponsors don't read that much anyway so all the writing is a bit of a waste of time. So think about it... A 2 page version is also possible of course ;-)

What about we fit all info in 1 A4 page (and use both sides when printing) ? My notes (doesn't look that good without any artwork...). Anyone can directly edit: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sKvoUMk8l62Iw4V6oJltzxuaPwArjo-IhaHfstLv... Personally, I wouldn't mind having less levels for sponsors. Also some proof reading would be appreciated. I guess most important point is to figure out exactly what we offer in return and in which level of sponsorship. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for getting this started. Gave it some polish and fiddled with a few things. This is ready to go, just needs background artwork.

If we add a breakdown the brochure gets rather lengthy, such it is nicer for us to just present highlights. For example the SUSECon sponsorship brochure is 10+ pages in length as everything is spelled out in great detail. I think we want to avoid this. The 2 page format should work well for us, it is not over the top but provides sufficient information to make it interesting for a sponsor. Hey all, the idea is to have this done for FOSDEM. I am told that Michal is the person that can take care of printing it as soon as it is ready. What is the deadline for sendig it to you, Michal? SUSE will be our Platinum/Cornerstone sponsor (Which name do you prefer?). So the rest of the levels should be Gold - Silver - Bronze I guess. (And perhaps it is too late to come up with something more creative for the sponsor-level naming) Also we have the idea to offer recruiting possibilities to sponsors, meaning: Sponsors that are interested in hiring new people can let us know. Attendees who want to be interviewed by our sponsors can let us know, through their registration (which might require them to upload a CV etc). We give the info of registered attendees looking for a job to our sponsors, small interview sessions are arranged. We will offer the small 15-people room for that, for a couple of hours for one or two days, depending on the number of people interested. Other than that, I need some help with the text of the brochure. 1. Do sponsors actually give 10k? What's the past experience? I am told that it might not be so realistic to have 1rst level at 10k and maybe we should make it 5k. 2. Lowest level of sponsorship, do you think it should stay 1k? 500 euro might be too little - or not? (Bearing in mind we also have professional tickets that cost 200 euro) 3. I will work on separating what we give for each level of sponsoring Any help of course is appreciated. BTW, this is the last day I can practically work on that (I am flying at 6am tomorrow for Brussels) and I am not sure if I will manage to be online for some time even from my mobile. Robert I think you made these changes in the sponsors brochure: Sponsor promotional advertising visible throughout the event location What is this supposed to include? At first I thought it was the video part playing at the entrance of the venue but that's No 9. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org
