Dear all! It has been awesome this year! So great to see so many of you again in The Hague! Some numbers: - We drank > 300L of tap beer and > 100L of openSUSE Beer (that's not bad)! - We drank ~250L coffee! - We had >70 sessions in 3 rooms, combined with the Kolab Summit we even had almost a 100 sessions spread over 6 rooms - At the height of the conference, on the Saturday afternoon, approx 220 openSUSE Conference and Kolab Summit attendees were in the building, that is an awesome result! - The group photo from the Sunday afternoon shows approx 150 people, and that isn't bad either! https://twitter.com/openSUSE/status/594813064387624960/photo/1 - Some people were carrying pedometers and the average daily stepratio was around 10k..... Wow, just wow....! - The very special Roundcube announcement landed awesome results already, over $13k in the first days! https://roundcu.be/next - It is now approx 365 days until oSC16 in Nuremberg See you next year! Hi all! Yesterday I've learned a bit about numbers thanks to the numerologist and the 3 stands for creativity and the need to express idea's, feelings and visions. Well, that's exactly what we're going to continue with doing to day! A very random selection of a few highlights on the program for today: - For openSUSE we have Doug Demaio opening the day with a session that will go into the value of branding, a very important aspect that many open source projects still need some improvement on. - We have quite a number of security tracks today, so in scheduling Robin and I dubbed this Security Sunday, - A personal favourite is the workshop that will be given in the Kolab Security / Healthcare room in the morning (next to the openSUSE workshop room) by rkhunter and lynis creator Michael Boelen, who will show you how to protect your (groupware) server: https://conference.kolab.org/content/how-secure-your-linux-groupware-server… - In the afternoon, in the openSUSE Workshop room, Radically open security will do a hackathon on their NetAidKit, a home router targeting secure communications - To finish the sessions, a special super top secret Kolab announcement in the Kolab main hall (at the end of the venue, near the openSUSE workshop rooms) to close of the day, everyone is invited! - And we'll close the day with another BBQ, yay! Hi all! It was awesome to see you all again yesterday at openSUSE Conference, we've already had a number of great keynote speakers like Markus Feilner and Aaron Seigo and also a very special announcement from Richard Brown! Today it will get even better, you want to know why? - The openSUSE board will give their keynote today (at 9.15) - Kolab Summit also starts today at 9.30, so even more great tracks! https://conference.kolab.org - The social events are stepping up a gear or two, as we have about a dozen fantastic vintage game consoles (NES, C64, Atari, stuff) from AwesomeRetro - Tonight (and tomorrow) we'll have a social at the venue with a BBQ and more free beer! :-) - Also you'll find some interesting extra's like Lady of Hope, who'll read your future So if you haven't turned up yet, NOW is the time to do so, and for everyone else: Party on!
