FYI, The Install guide for Havana is a complete rewrite and any testing is very welcome. You can use openSUSE 12.3 or 13.1 with the Cloud:OpenStack:Havana packages - or also SLES 11 SP3, Christian Berendt has already started with openSUSE testing but the more the better ;) Feel free to use the "Log a bug against this page" on the manual pages and somebody will take care of it. Alternatively, send your comments here and I'll take care of them. [opensuse-cloud] Backporting from Master to Havana

Hi, since we're still in the RC phase of Havana, I looked at the diff between C:OS:Master and C:OS:Havana and backported some functional changes. However, at this point, it is expected that both projects have different versions of most OpenStack packages. Some already diverged more (like nova and neutron), but we should continue to backport fixes where appropriate. >From the dependency side of things, only python-setuptools differs. Since we mostly decided to keep Cloud:OpenStack:Havana as close to openSUSE:13.1 as possible, I didn't upgrade it. Hello everyone, RC2 tarballs are in Cloud:OpenStack:Havana:Staging right now and should be available in Cloud:OpenStack:Havana soon. We also moved most python-*client (like keystoneclient) packages away from master to a fixed release. Since clients always add new dependencies and features, we will update these in a more controlled fashion than what we did in the past. [opensuse-cloud] link targets changed in Cloud:OpenStack:Factory

Hi, Since fighting against coolo's autoscripts became pointless, I've changed the source links of Cloud:OpenStack:Factory pointing back to openSUSE:Factory, since the scripts tried to achieve that anyway at random point in time, causing random fallout. This means that we need to explicitely copypac stuff now over to Cloud:OpenStack:Factory, and reject submitrequests to Cloud:OpenStack:Factory (and redirect them instead to our actual devel project). Note that copypac needs to use -K (for keep link) now. Hi, last announcement (I hope) for today: With the release of Havana RC1, Cloud:OpenStack:Havana and Master are now diverging, and you need to *manually* merge your changes from :Master into :Havana, if they're applicable there. trackupstream will stay disabled for Havana for the next two weeks or so, and then reenabled once stable branches exist upstream. for Master trackupstream will continue asap. [opensuse-cloud] ML2 plugin for Neutron?

The ML2 plugin is the new Neutron default - LinuxBridge and Open vSwitch plugins are deprecated with Havana and will be dropped in Icehouse. Do we have the plugin packaged for Havana? I don't see it directly... According to: http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/config-reference/content/vmware.html#vmware… you need to install python-suds with nova-compute. This is in nova's requirements.txt but I don't see it as requirement in our packages. Shouldn't we require it? [opensuse-cloud] Preparing of openSUSE 13.1 OpenStack packages

Hi, In order to prepare good OpenStack packages for openSUSE 13.1, I've started to submit the necessary changes and reduce the list of enabled packages in C:O:M to an absolute minimum. I've also deleted some python-* overlays that I deemed to be not necessary. In order to have a chance of finding the bugs in 13.1, please do not update packages or reenable the build on 13.1 or Factory repositories, as I would like to run tempest and other tests against plain 13.1, not an insane overlay over 13.1. if there are any newly bugs due to that, don't hesitate to bring it up.
