[opensuse-buildservice] obs-emails sent with full To: list
Hi, could you please change the obs-emails to not send all recipients in the "to:" list? I'm getting frustrated by those people who hit reply-all all the time in order to discuss with the request reviewer.. It would be great if both from: and reply-to would point to some email address that either deletes the email right away, responds with some "use the webui!" autoresponder or forwards it to the request directly. I'd prefer to have the out-of-band discussion not happening in my inbox. Can you please elaborate why you consider discussions harmful and prefer mails from a commenting system instead of mail conversations? Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org
Hi coolo,
Can you please elaborate why you consider discussions harmful and prefer mails from a commenting system instead of mail conversations?
I don't mind the discussions, I am worried that them being handled out of band, that means outside the request history, . IMHO they should be part of the request history, so that you can also at a later point in time (think: in two months from now) remember why things were done a certain way, without having to check at many different places for potential information. In addition to that I also have a hard time filtering those discussions into a separate folder, as those "reply-to-all" mails arrive as private mail directly in my inbox, rather than in the folder that contains all the other hermes emails. If there is a way to improve my filter rules, please let me know. I won't disable a feature just because it can be abused. Possibly we get at some point a mail parsing feature, then we can munge the reply-to.

Hmm, the subjects are already pretty long - but we can add a unique tag to make it easier to filter. The filtering is a problem anyway as e.g. gmail only filters for mailing lists, subject or from. Either we add [obs] in all emails (just as hermes basically did) or we let the admin configure a mail prefix, so you can have [packobs] too. That would help because right now, gmail puts those into the primary folder instead of "updates", and it's a massive pain (get them pushed on my phone, even when roaming, etc...), so much that I have to disable hermes emails altogether as the only alternative :( -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

Actually, It would be great to integrate mail with comments like it is on github (not sure, though, is it really so or it my imagination). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org
