[opensuse-buildservice] OBS server maintance?
Hi, is there an OBS server maintance executing? after 8:00 PM GMT+8, OBS can't open or refresh. (I lost some work, but just a little bit) the ping is okay, traceroute shows a suse.de server does not response, website is bad gateway, local osc vc will use username@localhost, when saving, it will tell you can't find your username. are you people maintaining server or updating hardware? if so, please pre-post a short notification here, it won't take you much time. OBS is international, this will make us in your night timezone less worried. (because today China National Great Firewall is also upgrading, we were afraid OBS is blocked in our area.) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

No, our internal network has some problems, our service provider is working on it.
if so, please pre-post a short notification here, it won't take you much time.
it was not planned.

oh, thank you.

then it is suggested to plan so next time or in the future.

sorry, a mid-night replay makes me sound like a troll. last night I thought adrian was saying "notification for maintaintance" is not planned instead of the internal server error. of course no one can control when it crash. marguerite

yep, it was true. it made me feel like developer said won't fix when you submit a obvious, reasonable, user-friendly fix patch. no one can make crash manageable if you're acting good instead of acting as a network cutter like national firewall in CN, IRAN and North Korea. but it's understandable even if adrian meant to say that. because SuSE has been M&A too much, its internal network is so complicated that may make adrian really feel crazy last night...(its China Office had been out of network for nearly a month before...same internal server error. I'm just okay. I have to say. Thank you all. marguerite -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

No problem, I can understand excatly how frustrating it is. I was also just waiting to get the storage fixed by others without being able to do anything myself ;) good morning adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

didnt mean to be rude ... but a comment like that after fighting with this machine and others to get them stable again ... As an update: The machine still has some small issues but the kernel team is looking into those. darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

It would still be very nice to be notified in case of such (planned or unplanned) outages that a) there is an outage ("dear thousands of users, it is not your fault, stop debugging, and..."), b) it is estimated to be resolved by <day> (<hour>).("...please work on something else until...") -- Kind regards 686f6c6d / Christopher 'm4z' Holm -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

In my case (I was working with OBS when the outage happened), seeing the "network unreachable", "503" and time outs gave me that exact message without need for an announcement. Still, after a little while one expects an announcement - because sometimes the problems are local, and it's hard to tell. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org
