[opensuse-buildservice] nice ./bs_worker permission denied
Hi @all I installed obs-worker on debian 8 and did add the address of the obs-server into /etc/default/obsworker along iwht the numer of worker instances. However when I start the service it starts and runs but when I enter the screen I get the following message: nice: ./bs_worker: permission denied Any way to debug it? Dear Mathias, be aware, I'm in no way an OBS specialist, but usually been able to get things going. Fun fact, if I'm beckoning strong enough, you might be able to see me from your office, since I'm located in Bingen ;-) Am Donnerstag, 16. April 2020, 17:49:48 CEST schrieb Mathias Radtke:

Let's start with: $ ps auxww | grep bs_worker | grep -v grep I would prefer the output without artificially added line breaks. Along those lines, some facts about your initial setup would be nice (LVM && lvs, obsstoragesetup output, kvm?, and some such..) seen that once on an installation where that script had been started on a partition mounted with noexec (I believe that was /var/tmp/). might be worth checking -- kind regards, Carsten Hoeger Engineering Services Email: carsten.hoeger@open-xchange.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open-Xchange AG, Hohenzollernring 72, 50672 Cologne, District Court Cologne HRB 95366 Managing Board: Rafael Laguna de la Vera, Carsten Dirks, Michael Knapstein, Stephan Martin Chairman of the Board: Richard Seibt European Office: Open-Xchange GmbH, Olper Huette 5f, D-57462 Olpe, Germany, District Court Siegen, HRB 8718 Managing Director: Frank Hoberg US Office: Open-Xchange. in any case an strace might be helpful to see what exact call failed. If bs_worker is executable, but it can not get started it may have to do with your perl, cgroup/selinux, mount options or alike. -- Adrian Schroeter email: adrian@suse.de SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg Germany -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

This indicates that "./bs_worker" does not have executable bit set in the filename. Can you please check whether /usr/lib/obs/server/bs_worker on your backend server has executable bit set? If not, then please run "chmod +x /usr/lib/obs/server/bs_worker" on the backend server and restart obsworker service on your worker. Regards, Srinidhi.
