RE: [opensuse-buildservice] Re: Request for integration into server:monitoring

I'm the "official" RPM package maintainer of the Ganglia project (of course each distro have their own packages, but I maintain the "official" one, or at least the one which you can download at SourceForge). I have been talking to Marcus (darix) about setting up a group for these kind of packages, but more so for HPC related programs like parallel libraries, schedulers, etc. (I'm also involved with the OSCAR project). Just a little background... Cheers, Bernard

Well, just like kismet, IMHO sflowtool and softflowd could also reside on somethink like "network:monitoring" or "network:security", because they're not specific for server use (well, "cactid" should also go into "network:monitoring").
Yes. My previous mail said exactly that :-) I dont think network:security is appropriate as flow programs are more about monitoring.. Not really security..
BTW, there's no such project called "network:monitoring".
Yes. Maybe there should be though. I created network:aaa yesterday, as I figured we really needed a "network" namespace in addition to "server".

Hmm.. Maybe we need to turn things around and have monitoring:network monitoring:server monitoring:hpc Ideas? -Peter On Thu 31 Aug 2006 19:40, Bernard Li wrote:

server:monitoring.... dont clutter the stuff too much. network/server/hpc ... they all share common tools for monitoring. and server is a general namespace for service hosting. no matter what. darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
