That doesn't work -- adding the xml to the project meta isn't effective. It works as you showed below (osc editmeta prjname pacname).

If I try:

osc editmeta home:keichwa automake ==> error getting meta for project 'home:keichwa' package 'automake' HTTP Error 404: Not Found

Your osc package is outdated. That is a bug which was introduced recently, and fixed meanwhile.
