[opensuse-buildservice] make account email adresses "public" ?

Hi, I get more and more requests to find the email address for a certain package by some other packager. So I would like to make the email address visible/clickable in the web interface. It will not be accessable by an anonymous user, you will need an account to get them. Does anyone have a problem with this ? The alternative solution would be to create a text input field in the web interface to enter some notice which will send to the packager, without to make his email address visible. But I think we are all in a good community and do not need to hide our email addresses :) bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

How about using the package field of RPM to publish the packagers contact information? (I don't have any objections to publishing the email addresses on the web as well.) Regards Christoph

The packager's email address is "usually" already in the changelog visible (and with repoview even readable without downloading the package first). That's what I would prefer in an Enduser interface for the repositories of the build service. Users (not necessarily packagers) should be able to comment on packages and projects. I agree. But maybe we could use both solutions. I mean, email available _only_ for build-service users and text input field for everybody (including, of course, anonymous). I believe that users should be able to contact those who provide them with software. I put my full email in changelog messages for a reason. -- James Oakley jfunk@funktronics.ca --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
