[opensuse-buildservice] Request for integration into server:monitoring
Excuse me if this is not the correct way of making such a request. I noticed that there is a repository "sever:monitoring", and I have some packages on my home project (home:netmask) that I think could be interesting to integrate, such as "cacti-cactid" (poller daemon for Cacti) and "kismet" (wireless sniffer). Also, I plan to have "cheops-ng" built some time later. I would like to know if the maintainers of this repository could be interested in integrating those packages. TIA, and once more, sorry if I'm being inconvenient. -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, I thought that was implied when I said "home:netmask". Username: netmask ;) (Sorry for the joke) -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

while i agree that cactid should be in server:monitoring. i dont think that cheops-ng and kismet fit there. comments? darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

comments?
Yeah. Its a fine line. Maybe network:diagnostic ? I have also put a bunch of netflow and sflow tools into server:monitoring which actually have nothing to do with server monitoring. network:monitoring would be a better fit for them... or network:diagnostic maybe Cheers -- Peter Nixon http://www.peternixon.net/ PGP Key: http://www.peternixon.net/public.asc

Well, just like kismet, IMHO sflowtool and softflowd could also reside on somethink like "network:monitoring" or "network:security", because they're not specific for server use (well, "cactid" should also go into "network:monitoring"). BTW, there's no such project called "network:monitoring". -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Yes. My previous mail said exactly that :-) I dont think network:security is appropriate as flow programs are more about monitoring.. Not really security..

Yes. Maybe there should be though. I created network:aaa yesterday, as I figured we really needed a "network" namespace in addition to "server". -- Peter Nixon http://www.peternixon.net/ PGP Key: http://www.peternixon.net/public.asc
