[opensuse-buildservice] A package for KDE:Community
Hello everybody, at the last packagingday, I created (on request of... hmm.. who was it??) packages of kcometen3. They should actually work (is a bit difficult for me to test; I'm a gnome ;) Is there somebody willing to take over this package? At the moment it is 'only' in home:dimstar:packagingday and I would like to see it moved to KDE:Community. If nobody is willing to take over the package, then I would like to get access on KDE:Community so I can put the package there myself and maintain it (most likely not many changes would come up anyhow). Thanks for all your valuable work! thats a pity ;), but why does this make it difficult to test it for you ? Ah, I see it is a screensaver, but it should be anyway possible for you to run the .kss binary

erm.. no comment on that ;) some people feel more comfortable with the one or the other... I got used and am to lazy to change ;)

yes, running is no problem... this works (even though it's in a full screen window... that's basically where my testing ends... I can not see if it's in the list of the screensavers and such things... but of course I can test if the .kss file can be started.

Thanks... I will copy the package over then to have it available for everybody (ok ok.. it was available before... but I guess many treat the home: as playground and would most likely not grab all packages from there). for that just call kcontrol or "kcmshell screensaver". You see, no way out ;) ...

right and so is the intention of that setup :) -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

This just brought me on another point: would it be possible to have a special flag (a tick box in the search engine) to not show the home: name space by default? Like this, we can still look for packages in home:* (for more advanced users, that might also handle a broken installation and that know about playgrounds), but the 'standard end user' does not need to know about the difference between the home:* and other repositories. Discussion is now open ;) Dominique -- TMF is a global management and accounting outsourcing firm with 77 offices in 60 countries and over 2,500 professionals (2007).
