[opensuse-buildservice] Installing on Mandriva via OBS repo
Hi All, I am trying to install my program on Mandriva but can't seem to add the OBS repository. It seems that the command urpmi.addmedia doesn't work with the normal RPM PM. Someone on IRC mentioned that I could specify a different type for the repository in my OBS raw config to automatically generate a urpmi compatible repo. What do I put as the type for my Mandriva repo to make it urpmi compatible? For now, nothing, OBS doesn't support (yet) urpmi compatible repository. Hi, I would also like to support OBS providing native hdlists for OBS. I started porting the necessary packages from Mandriva to openSUSE/SLE. I got fairly far along, but a perl package perl-RPM4 will not compile on any recent flavor of *Suse. It also fail on Fedora/RH. https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?arch=i586&package=perl-RPM4&project=home%3Amrdocs&repository=openSUSE_11.2 This is the blocker for me at the moment. According to our POV this would be a security issue, because mirrors could block security updates or include official old packages with known security issues. However I will just skip it for now for hdlist mode.

Hm, this is because of the missing headerPutString function (saw this in another mail from you meanwhile). Also it seems that we would need to have all packages in one directory for genhdlist2, it seems it can't work with multiple ones. right ? sorry, no time for this today.

genhdlist2 should be run in each directory that contains the packages· genhdlist2 creates a subdirectory media_info, and writes at least three files in this subdirectory: $ ls media_info/ hdlist.cz MD5SUM synthesis.hdlist.cz for more information please see "man genhdlist2" (this man page in perl-URPM, which i built)· -- wbr, alexander barakin aka sash-kan. http://gnu.linuxcenter.ru -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org

Just one of them should be enough. It should also happen on 11.4, maybe the easiest for you. I suppose this is only provided by Mandrivas rpm package because they use v5, just a guess. -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de

hm. in opensuse 11.4 script works for me: $ cat /etc/*release* openSUSE 11.4 (i586) VERSION = 11.4 CODENAME = Celadon $ genhdlist2 --clean . adding 10 new rpms not available in existing hdlist replacing ./media_info/hdlist.cz with hdlist.cz.tmp replacing ./media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz with synthesis.hdlist.cz.tmp updating ./media_info/MD5SUM $ genhdlist2 . filtering ./media_info/hdlist.cz into hdlist.cz.tmp adding 10 new rpms not available in existing hdlist replacing ./media_info/hdlist.cz with hdlist.cz.tmp replacing ./media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz with synthesis.hdlist.cz.tmp updating ./media_info/MD5SUM
