[opensuse-buildservice] Long queues
Hi, In the last few days, I noticed that the i586 queues are stacking up, sometimes in the thousands especially during peak hours. The x86_64 can get clogged up too sometimes but they tend to clear up pretty quickly. Is this is a simple resource limitation issue, or is there something else going on? As the BuildService becomes more popular, this will only get worse. One part of the solution is: New Hardware for the OBS: http://lizards.opensuse.org/2008/10/16/new-hardware-for-the-obs/ This roughly doubles the number of worker nodes when installed. All I have to say is: Sweet! :) When do you expect them to be up and running? Regards, Jasem -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

I guess this is also due to the fact that the i586 scheduler takes care of the image building scheduling. Micha? Best, Christoph -- Christoph Thiel, Tech. The i586 scheduler handles the calculation of dependendencies for images/products, this is a time consuming task. However, michael has already code which speeds this up a lot. I think we will restart the schedulers today to improve this situation. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
