[opensuse-buildservice] build errors for java based tomcat plugin
Hi, We are having problems getting a package to build - looks like dependncy problems. It is a java based plugin in tomcat for AppArmor. The package tomcat_apparmor is in factory but we would like to make a development version available via the build service. Does the buildservice expand java2-devel-packages to fill the required dependencies? Here is the link showing the build problems: http://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=tomcat_apparmor&project=home%3Asteve-beattie Thanks, dominic --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

I think you have to build with a java repository for example: Java:Sun-Java-1.5/SUSE_Linux_10.1 because the standard repositories don't contain java. Greetings

I think you have to build with a java repository for example: Java:Sun-Java-1.5/SUSE_Linux_10.1 because the standard repositories don't contain java.
Thanks, that worked for building against 10.1. Unfortunately, I don't see
a repository that works for SLE 10 (I tried SUSE:SLE-10:SDK:EXTRA/SLE_10,
no luck) or Factory (even though tomcat_apparmor is *in* Factory). Any
other repos I should be looking at?
Thanks for the help.

I am struggling with the same problem for SLE10 and factory. (Project swamp) Maybe Adrian can help? You need to make sure to have a target distribution added that includes JAVA. The default SLE10 and Factory targets don't include JAVA. SLES and the SUSE:SLE-10 project do provide already the SUN Java packages, but it is not part of SLES or the SDK it seems. So the only way is to build it also inside of the EXTRA (or your own) project, I can add you to the EXTRA, if you want. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, I don't understand. What is EXTRA? Do you mean I have to build Java myself and put the packages on top of this project then? SUSE:SLE-10:SDK:Extra is for stuff, which is neither in SLE, nor in SDK, but is used by multiple projects building for SLE-10. In this way the packages become also available on software.opensuse.org, so users can actually install the packages ;) -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Yes, I tried that repo (see above), it didn't have sufficient packages.

Right, that was the reason why I asked Tom, if he want to package it there :) bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

What's wrong with http://software.opensuse.org/download/swamp/ ;-) Wait, I see: http://software.opensuse.org/download/swamp/SL10.1/repodata/ has no nice HTML pages :-( - can someone fix this please? (triggering a rebuild of any package in the swamp project should be enough) There are also some empty directories (SLE_10, SLE10+SDK, sle10_sdk) which are empty and should be removed. Hier hilft KDE sehr! :-)) ) [Konrad Neitzel in suse-linux] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Yes, the empty directories should be removed. I wanted to build for SLE10 and Factory which is not possible due to missing Java (http://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=swamp_svn&project=swamp). But Daniel is on his way to build it.
