[opensuse-buildservice] 1.5 RC 2 release
Hi, finally, later than expected, but now we have another Build Service 1.5 rc release. All important fixes, esp from backend and build script code have been backported. Special thanks to Martin Mohring fixing our init script fixes again ! We have new tar balls at http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Special:Downloads/opensuse/1.5 and new packages in openSUSE:Tools project. Please note that you need also the new build.rpm or the scheduler will not be able to start nor kiwi builds will really work within XEN. We do still work on more examples to build images and products with OBS. My hope is that we can do the release on FOSDEM. have fun ! adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Hi, I also want to mention next to that I am not only Adrians "watchdog" for the init scripts, but also that we had enhanced our collection of supported distros for ARM architecture to Debian, Fedora and Ubuntu of all sort of revisions. Also, Jan Simon got the maemo SDK for the Nokia N810 phone running inside OBS now. blog here: http://lizards.opensuse.org/2009/01/27/build-maemo-apps-with-opensuse-builds... OBS 1.5 gets a great release. Cheers, Martin -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
After updating to the newly-available RC2 packages, I have found some problems. 1. the init script for obsworker was disabled 2. I have some packages stuck in 'finished' state that won't leave, and forcibly rebuilding them appears to do nothing - they do not rebuild. I am running: build-2009.01.27-24.1 obs-api-1.5.rc2-1.1 obs-utils-1.5.rc2-1.1 obs-worker-1.5.rc2-1.1 obs-server-1.5.rc2-1.1 and zypper says there is nothing to update. Host O/S is openSUSE 11.0 Any ideas? -- Jon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Aha. I've found the cause for no. 2 - the /etc/sysconfig/obs-server file did not get updated with the new packages. Is there a way to merge the /var/adm/fillup-templates/sysconfig.obs-worker file with the one in /etc/sysconfig/obx-worker? The file *I* had did not have any of the architecture stuff, and so no x86_64 work was being done. I have corrected this and things are working now. However, should updating the /etc/sysconfig files be automated? I now have a series of questions which all revolve around the same issue: projects. If I log in as Admin and I List All Projects, I see a few that are problematic: deleted openSUSE:11.1 openSUSE:openSUSE-11.0 openSUSE:openSUSE-11.1 If I try to open up any of them, I get a 404 error. The openSUSE* projects were probably from my attempts at adding projects which failed. First question: how do I remove dead projects from the list? Second question: how do I add new projects assuming I have already filled out /srv/obs/build/ with the right hierarchy and set of RPMs? Before 1.5 is released, will the documentation be updated/fleshed out any? -- Jon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
