ldconfig also creates/updates the links if they are missing/wrong. Unlike openSUSE, Fedora packages the links as %ghost only.
That seems to vary from package to package. For example, the sqlite-libs package has the link: $ rpm2cpio sqlite-libs.rpm | cpio --list -v lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 Sep 21 08:31 ./usr/lib/libsqlite3.so.0 -> libsqlite3.so.0.8.6 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 916252 Sep 21 08:31 ./usr/lib/libsqlite3.so.0.8.6 drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Sep 21 08:35 ./usr/share/doc/sqlite-libs -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11237 Sep 13 02:11 ./usr/share/doc/sqlite-libs/README.md But libcrypt doesn't have it: $ rpm2cpio libcrypt.rpm | cpio --list -v -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 43740 Aug 18 12:24 ./lib/libcrypt-2.24.so drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Aug 18 13:37 ./usr/share/doc/libcrypt -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4565 Aug 18 12:24 ./usr/share/doc/libcrypt/README.ufc-crypt Cheers, Michael. -- Michael Schroeder mls@suse.de SUSE LINUX GmbH, GF Jeff Hawn, HRB 16746 AG Nuernberg main(_){while(_=~getchar())putchar(~_-1/(~(_|32)/13*2-11)*13);} -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+owner@opensuse.org
