Given that the HTML files - are a workaround because we don't have a better way of repository viewing yet, - are not seriously used, at least I'm not aware of, and - can be viewed on download.opensuse.org anyway, I suggest that we exclude them from the rsync module, so they are not mirrored anymore.
Sounds good to me!
Is it possible to put a static informational html file on the mirrors (README_repoview.html?), pointing users to the right place to look for the repoview data?
That is hardly possible, I'm afraid.
I really like repoview, and i get confused all the time by mirrors only showing part of the picture, without giving me a hint I _am_ missing something.
The repoview files exist on http://download.opensuse.org/repositories. Is it an alternative for you to look directly there? Unrelated sidenote: I recently noticed that Fedora seems to use a patched repoview which creates HTML files without version numbers. This seems much more useful to me than the standard behaviour.
