For example. I want to type "mypassword" and I get only "ypssd". When invalid, second try works ok. I tried with different KDM themes but with identical result. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Reboot computer 2. Type password 3. I can always login for the first time but need to check 10 times if password was accepted fully. Switching to kdm-branding-upstream does not take any effect. Just a minute ago I did a restart and only 1 letter was put inside input. Filesystem: ext4 Kernel: 3.2.2 This bug first occured after clean install of 12.1. Latest updates doesn't change anything.

What happens is that after the first character input some disk activity (likely loading a library) is going on and any characters that are input during that time are lost. If you remember to wait for the cursor to blink again and only then continue to type the password, everything works even for the first login.
