[Bug 925312] New: kernel 4.0 display wierdness - no display on dock, no mouse after resume
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=925312 Bug ID: 925312 Summary: kernel 4.0 display wierdness - no display on dock, no mouse after resume Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org Assignee: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: rcoe@wi.rr.com QA Contact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I was running opensuse-13.2 and updated packages on 28 Mar 2015. I was running linux kernel 3.19.0-4.ga260777-desktop and upgraded to 4.0.0-rc5-4.g2458897-desktop. When I boot my laptop undocked, the system boots normal. I then suspend the system, and resume it in the dock. The system no longer detects the switch from the laptop display to the dock's display. If I open the laptop lid and select 'configure desktop' --> 'display and monitor', the display then automatically switches to dock display. Before the update, docking the laptop and resuming, automattically switched the display. Later on I suspend and un-dock. On the next resume, the display correctly switches to laptop display, and functions normally. I then suspend and resume again. The display is normal, but the mouse is missing. In the kernel log, there are lots of messages from the nouveau driver starting with nouveau E[ PDISP][0000:01:00.0] INVALID_STATE [UNK05] chid 0 mthd 0x0080 data 0x00000000 and what looks like a dump of nouveau registers.
