I use both types of terminal in the same session. This worked correctly in 10.2, by the way. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340894 User robin.listas@telefonica.net added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340894#c6 --- Comment #6 from Carlos Robinson <robin.listas@telefonica.net> 2008-06-12 06:13:21 MDT --- The funny thing is that while the session is being started, the xterm goes to the right place, then after a few seconds goes to the top left where it superimposed some seconds later by the gnome-terminal window (if I'm fast I can move it back to the correct place with the mouse. Session start takes perhaps half a minute or more, and boot-up two or three minutes, so I hibernate instead). So, it does try to place it correctly, then it thinks again an resets placement to defaults, probably. I don't know if it supposed to work, but it did work in suse 10.2. It has worked intermitently over the years :-p -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Programmer <casualprogrammer@gmail.com> 2008-06-16 00:46:28 MDT --- This happens for gnome-terminal as well, but only if two are present. As long as just one is open it stays put. After opening a second one, one stays put, the other one is moved to the top left corner after a second or so. Also renaming the title does not stick over logout / login. This is really a loser, why not close it after 6 month of ignorance ?
Pray, why should a problem be forgotten? Is that the way of software to be, work worse each year? Why not solved, once and for all? When I log in, first the xterm goes to the proper place, and later in the process, it is moved to the top-left. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
