[Bug 211518] New: Latest update to evolution-exchange breaks exchange communication
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=211518 Summary: Latest update to evolution-exchange breaks exchange communication Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Evolution AssignedTo: kharish@novell.com ReportedBy: jpschewe@mtu.net QAContact: anagappan@novell.com I just updated to the latest evolution packages this morning and received the evolution-exchange package 2.6.0-27.13. Once I installed the package and restarted evolution I was no longer able to communicate with my Exchange 2003 server. After prompting me for a password the connection would just hang. Attempting to access any exchange resources from evolution caused evolution to hang in such a way that only evolution --force-shutdown would close it. I backed up to the previous evolution packages (2.6.0-20 for evolution-exchange) and everything is ok. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I Observed if proxy is enabled, authentication failes in maintenence patch. Evolution takes 4 minutes to launch with enter password dialog. Once password is entered 'authentication' failure dialog popsup. Jon: Is proxy enabled in your system which requires authentication ? There is a known issue that connection to exchange server does not work which connects via authenticated proxy. As well if Evolution is hanging forever, could you attach stack traces of evolution and exchange. Please refer to http://gnome.org/projects/evolution/bugs.shtml to get stack traces and E2K_DEBUG traces. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

One of the customer had reported this issue in sled 10. I am not sure if u can access this bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=189926. If not follow following steps -Launch gconf-editor -Select System ->http_proxy -On right hand side, double click ignore hosts, Add ipaddress or server name of exchange server in the list of Ignore hosts. Let us know if this resolves the issue. We will be waiting for your reply to know if this is a proxy issue or something else. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=211518 ------- Comment #9 from vvaradhan@novell.com 2006-11-07 09:36 MST ------- Hi Jon, Thanks for the update. It is not necessary that you mention a "full-qualifying" name in the ignore-hosts list. You can use wild-cards as well. For-Ex: *.foo.com .foo.com 192.168.1.0/8 etc are various ways of mentioning domains that you don't want to go through your proxy server. Let me know if this fixes your issue.
