If after deselecting the pattern appears as "already installed", the it's dependencies are simply fullfiled by chance. (i.e other other selected patterns/packages require/recommend the packages, which were otherwise required by the pattern). Patterns are not actually installed. Ihe 'installed' state is a UI fake, shown if the patterns dependencies are fullfilled.
