[Bug 434812] New: openSUSE updater does not inform about provider changes
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=434812 Summary: openSUSE updater does not inform about provider changes Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: registration@grek.tuffmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- When, by update, a package could possibly change a provider normally YaST2's package manager would ask user if provider should be really changed. However, when openSUSE updater is being used it presents new package for update but when user agrees on update process the updater will silently fail without giving any clue of what happened. I think openSUSE updater should display the same window as YaST2 displays which reports the problem and gives a chance to select solution for it. Or at least it should display detailed error msg with instructions how to update packages from YaST2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Or at least it should display detailed error msg with instructions how to update packages from YaST2. That's exactly what the latest version of the updater applet does. The dialog contains a button to start YaST for manual patch installation.

The latest version is kde4-kupdateapplet 0.8.10. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
