[Bug 567796] New: Trouble with loading HAL policy regarding tapping on Elantech Touchpad
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=567796 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=567796#c0 Summary: Trouble with loading HAL policy regarding tapping on Elantech Touchpad Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: merlockmagus@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.249.43 Safari/532.5 Okay, here's the problem: I've got a touchpad .fdi policy file that I've modified. I restart hal with "rchal restart" and I can view the changes with "lshal". However, there are no actual changes... I can verify this by looking at "synclient -l", which still contains the old configuration. What can I do? I'm trying to enable two-finger and three-finger taps such that two-finger is middle-click and three-finger is right-click. My policy file is at /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/11-x11-synaptics.fdi I have attached the fdi policy. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Modify /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/11-x11-synaptics.fdi, so TapButton2 is 2 and TapButton3 is 3. 2. Call "rchal restart" to restart changes 3. Check for changes in "lshal | less" -- check, TapButton2 is indeed 2 and TapButton3 is indeed 3 4. Now check synclient -l -- problem arises. TapButton2 is still at old value of 3 and TapButton3 is at old value of 2. Actual Results: No changes to how two-finger and three-finger taps are registered... Expected Results: Changes to how two-finger and three-finger taps are registered, or any changes, really. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In case you want synaptics driver configuration I suggest to use synclient itself, i.e. synclient TapButton2=2 synclient TapButton3=3 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
