https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=416125 Summary: Built-in microphone doesn't work in Acer laptop Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: zeph7r@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have an Acer Aspire 5315 laptop which has an ALC268 codec chip and I'm using kernel 2.6.25.11 default version. I have seeked help at the opensuse forum and tried several things, including updating alsa and all its related components to an 1.0.17xxx cvs version and adding "options snd-hda-intel model=acer" to /etc/modprobe.d/audio . Also I've tried several different combinations in mixer, and tried each one of the selectable outputs, all frustated. Try to load snd-usb-audio module and check whether you have another sound device there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I even rebooted pc and still nothing. In the input source there are still "mic" "internal mic" and "line" as before, where there should be "webcam mic" too I suppose. If I run alsaconf after modprobing snd-usb-audio, the module is unloaded -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It's another sound device. So, you wouldn't be able to choose it from the input source, anyway. So, this seems not like a usb-audio stuff. Then, sorry, no more idea. It's a bug in the upstream and we have no technical information about this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
