As a result I no longer receive new message notifications via the system tray, hence the non-minor priority. System tray Icons for other applications (tested with VLC) are visible as expected. Konversation 1.3.1-11.1.2 configured with "Enable System Tray" and "use system tray for new message notification" results in a vacant space in the system tray where the Konversation icon should be.
The system tray Icon re-appears with the following procedure: 1. Deselect "Enable System Tray" 2. Apply settings 3. Select "Enable System Tray" 4.
