All I can do is turn off the machine using the powerbutton. Sometimes, the HW-switch for the wireless manages to shut down the wireless driver, which also stops the event/1 process from using 100% computation time. Then, a rmmod and modprobe of iwlagn _sometimes_ helps. This observation happened on a Thinkpad X200s, opensuse and kernel 2.6.27.7-9 and 2.6.27.17-4, 64bit. This is the same error as in http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1832 And I can confirm comment #26. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: How to do that: - use wpa connection (not really sure if it would work on nonwpa also, i have wpa everywhere i can) - connect to AP - associate or send some data - turn killswitch on (disable wireless) - turn killswitch off (enable wireless) - close the lid/suspend to ram - restore - try to associate to wpa - you get event/1 cycling, one core is fully loaded, keyboard is blocked in X until i kill signal again. - until i fix it somehow, i cannot connect to wpa station until reboot. Actual Results: Machine hangs, keyboard input does not work anymore under X. Mouse seems to be working, but opening a shell, for example, is _very_ slow Expected Results: There should not have been a lockup of the iwlagn driver after wakeup. I classify it as a "major feature being broken" as it makes the suspend2ram on the laptop useless. i appended an extract from /var/log/messages. It starts with the last line before suspend to ram and ends with the the final hard shutdown after the lock-up. The iwlagn module starts at time 20:12:37 showing a number of microcode errors. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Will check on iwl5000 soon. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It seems that the iwl4965 driver didn't have that problem, see http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1832 See comment #20. In order to reproduce the problem, I don't have to do anything else but put the laptop to standby, let it wake up again and associate again with a WPA secured wireless network. Assuming of course that I was using the WPA-secured network before the standby. I don't have to do any pathological steps to generate the problem. I am not sure if there is any dependency with a non-WPA network, though!! let me know if and what debug information you want me to provide. best, Volker -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

WORKSFORME Lenovo TP R400 "Intel PRO/Wireless 5100 AGN ..." [8086:4237] . Here I observe the same X related problem as reported in Bug 471087 - "Suspend to ram does not work for ThinkPad R400". It depends on DRI being disabled in xorg.conf. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=476367 User vok@cvmi.aau.dk added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=476367#c6 --- Comment #6 from Volker Krüger <vok@cvmi.aau.dk> 2009-02-26 03:55:59 MST --- Hi Helmut, this bug is really annoying to me: another and more natural way to *always* reproduce the bug is: 1) boot the machine 2) associate the wireless with a WPA network and work 3) suspend the machine (this is the first suspend after boot) 4) wake the machine up, re-associate with the same WPA network and continue working 5) suspend the machine (this is the second suspend) 6) after wake up, the machine is *not* able to properly re-connect the the WPA network and the above mentioned problems appear. So: I may only suspend the laptop once! After second suspend, wireless stops working. while you try to find a machine to reproduce the bug, let me know what info you need and I test it out and send you the debug information. I have a normal Lenovo X200s with the IWL5300 wireless card. Another comment: I was not able to understand what actually happened to the bug in http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1832 it seems that with the 2.6.28 kernel, things were fixed. But I am not sure. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
