That's no surprise -- the rpm.org rpm does not add dependencies between kernel packages and packages containing kernel modules, while our kernel packages do. Kernel modules in packages without dependency tracking are a really bad idea; we have introduced the Kernel Module Package mechanism to fix this (http://www.suse.de/~agruen/KMPM/).
