But it's not working anyway using the gstreamer backend. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It turns out that banshee is able to play mp3s on the very system just fine. I am not using any third party repository (thus no community codecs) on this machine. Is there anything that has changed on the KDE front in the last week (or two) that broke this? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

For me the problem was solved by another KDE 4.2.1 update several days later. One thing you may want to try is delete the ~/.xine folder, and then running xine from konsole and playing one of the mp3's. If it works, chances are amarok will play mp3's again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
