https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856855 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856855#c0 Summary: opera: probably end of support for Linux Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.2 Milestone 0 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Security AssignedTo: security-team@suse.de ReportedBy: lijewski.stefan@zabka.pl QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 Opera browser for Linux wasn't updated for 6 months, and there isn't any official statement about next stable (or even beta) release. I propose to create update similar to the acroread one - which should uninstall opera. The problem isn't trivial, since I think that there's plenty of people who are using builtin opera mail client or has passwords which they don't remember anymore... I don't have idea who to resolve it :-/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856855 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856855#c4 --- Comment #4 from Stefan Lijewski <lijewski.stefan@zabka.pl> 2014-01-24 09:55:33 UTC --- I've added an update-message, the packages are currently in my branch project: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:lijews:branches:OBS_Maintained:... The message is as follows: --------------------------------------------------------- Opera 12.16 released at June 2013 was the last update for Linux version of this browser. Since then Opera Software has not fixed and probably will not fix any further security issues in it. The openSuSE Team strongly recommends to not use it anymore and choose other opensourced browsers. --------------------------------------------------------- I'm not part of openSuSE Team, but sentence like "We recommend", or "It is recommend" sounds strange for me. So sorry for using the name... Any ideas or improvements are welcome. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
