[Bug 433308] New: mISDN Driver Conflict
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=433308 Summary: mISDN Driver Conflict Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: ISDN AssignedTo: kkeil@novell.com ReportedBy: andrew@joako.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner Using openSUSE 11.0. When you install a Digium X101P PCI card or a "generic clone" (analog PSTN interface) any time you load YaST Software Management it will automatically select the mISDN kernel driver. After a reboot the Digium card no longer works, because the mISDN driver is using the device (not really, its not an ISDN device and can't work with mISDN). Uninstall and taboo of the mISDN kmp obviously fixes this issue. The "generic clone" cards are just PCI *inmodems (the Digium cards are the same modems, with a resistor or two removed which changes the PCI device ID). Here is one example of the generic clone card that causes this conflict: Encore ENF656-GSW-INPR 03:06.0 Communication controller: Tiger Jet Network Inc. Tiger3XX Modem/ISDN interface I have not tested with the Digium X100P or clone, which is also a PCI *inmodem, but using a Motorola chipset. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Other question, you report this for openSuSE 112.0, but this does not contain mISDN at all, do you use 11.1 or a newer kernel or a external mISDN package ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
