Do you want to try to install one? If I select No, pick up dolphin manually (there is nothing to choose from), it is started. But it is not remembered even though I selected to remember the selection. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I tried KDE:Distro:Factory and it is the same. The kde "start menu" behaves the same. When I type something in the search field, nothing appears until I have whole binary name there. What module takes care of this? I think I should report this upstream. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So the report should be for "krunner". Just to be sure. Yeah, this is what should "Aplikace" (applications or programs in EN) provide... (I tried on another 12.1+tw machine where this works.) But I do not have any applications in the "start menu". So I think this is the culprit. My application database is empty or broken. That's why krunner offers nothing, that's why I see nothing in applciation list and start menu. Any idea how the database is built? I think it should take all .desktop files and build something... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

By kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental. But it complained that /etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu doesn't exist. So I created a link to /etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu.kde4 and it looks like it works now. At least file associations are back, start menu contains applications again. Krunner still does not see that all, but I beleive this will be fixed with next session restart. The question is why it wants /etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu or who should provide that? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Brilliant. That's exactly the root cause. I did not have. Perhaps some package should require it? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
