However, the pulseaudio client library does not - and it looks in /tmp instead of using TMPDIR (if present and not empty). This mismatch causes a number of problems, but should also be very easy to fix. I can probably supply a patch if necessary. NOTE: ditto libflashsupport (which hardcodes /tmp when accessing .esd sockets).
