http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617040 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617040#c0 Summary: kdm: config option regression Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: jengelh@medozas.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- In openSUSE 11.2 and 11.3, it is not possible to: * disable the user list * set kdm not to put in the previous username by default This is really needed for public terminals, and I think it once was in SUSE. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617040 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617040#c1 --- Comment #1 from Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de> 2010-06-24 10:27:06 UTC --- Setting /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager KDM_USERS=" " is an inacceptible workaround for the former, as the 0-element list is still displayed (this is due to the theme). It really requires that a KDM_SHOW_USERLIST=yes/no and KDM_PRESELECT_USER={none,previous} be provided in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager that control the respective "UserList=..." and "PreselectUser=..." options in kdmrc. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

With KDM_USERS=" ", I still get a userlist box on 12.3, and I see no other KDM_*-specific configuration variables in /etc/sysconfig/. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

B) Tab Users: Uncheck "Show list" Expected to see a small dialog box with 2 text boxes on the KDM Login (Username and Password). Did not expect to see a large portion of the dialog box taken up by an empty gray box. The attached image shows the KDM Login dialog with the gray box. When "Show list" is unchecked, the KDM Login dialog should only show the Username and Password fields. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
