https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=293842 Summary: /etc/init.d/halt spews errors for non-existing /dev/tty[2-6] Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: S/390-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: hare@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: jjolly@novell.com, ihno@novell.com, stefan.fent@novell.com, uli@novell.com Found By: Development /etc/init.d/halt contains this line: fuser -sk -HUP /dev/tty1 /dev/tty2 /dev/tty3 /dev/tty4 /dev/tty5 /dev/tty6 which results in plenty of error messages if any of those devices do not exist. Eg on S/390 we only have /dev/tty1; the others are not present. The script should check for the existence of the devices prior to access them via fuser. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
