[Bug 402609] New: Kryptomedia does not mount encrypted USB drive on non-VIA padlock system
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=402609 Summary: Kryptomedia does not mount encrypted USB drive on non- VIA padlock system Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: taupemoi@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- This is related to bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=396209 but specific to Kryptomedia (version 0.01 on KDE 3.5.9): on a system without the VIA padlock capability in the CPU, mounting a USB crypto-partition (created with SUSE 10.3) fails silently after entering the LUKS password. Inspecting the system log shows the following errors: modprobe: WARNING: Error inserting padlock_aes (/lib/modules/2.6.25.5-1.1-pae/kernel/drivers/crypto/padlock-aes.ko): No such device modprobe: WARNING: Error inserting padlock_sha (/lib/modules/2.6.25.5-1.1-pae/kernel/drivers/crypto/padlock-sha.ko): No such device When trying "cryptsetup luksOpen" by hand, the LUKS handle is nevertheless created and can then be mounted with "mount /dev/mapper/handlename mountpoint". So Kryptomedia really should be able to mount the device - or at least let the user know what happened. Thanks for looking into this! P.S.: in KDE4.0, nothing happened when I hotplugged the drive. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
