Neither K3b nor Braser sees this drive. It is working since I used it to do the install, and I took the openSUSE 11.1 off and went back to Fedora 10 out of frustration. IMHO there is a severe bug in the current hal-implementation of opensuse 11.1, preventing many devices like CD, DVD, Scanners, whatsoever from being accessed. By any means adding the user to the group disk will help - given that the device is a member of that group what I assume. See parallel (but not identical issues in Bug #408252). I think this bug is a duplicate of #408252, being mirrored in several access issue problems with different devices from dvd-units to scanners.
