After testing and looking at logs i determined that typelib-1_0-Vte-2_90 was missing. After testing package configurations, the following need to be in the dependencies list for nautilus-terminal. typelib-1_0-Vte-2_90 and all of its dependencies are required. i am running xfce, using nautilus on openSUSE 12.2 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install nautilus 2. install nautilus-terminal 3. do not install or remove typelib-1_0-Vte-2_90 4. note that nautilus-terminal dose not work. 5. install typelib-1_0-Vte-2_90 6. note that nautilus-terminal dose work. I installed typelib-1_0-Vte-2_90 on this new computer and it started working. I removed typelib-1_0-Vte-0_0 and it still works I am not sure the diffrences other than 0_0 is .28.2-9.5.1 and 2_90 is 32.3-2.2.1 The dependancy needs to be changed so that Vte-2.90.typelib is required. The issue is that the python code only specifies 'I want Vte', but does not specify which specific version of Vte it expects to find... paired together with zypper trying to minimize the amount of packages to be installed happens to 'prefer' Vte-0.0 in some cases. A fix for the released platforms is not as trivial (without just messing with either the code or dependencies..., which, considering the rather low count of issues reported, is likely not warranted).
