[Bug 1162479] New: Failure to create RAID0 or LVM when installing on two disks
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1162479 Bug ID: 1162479 Summary: Failure to create RAID0 or LVM when installing on two disks Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Factory Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: Vojtech.Zeisek@opensuse.org QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 828892 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=828892&action=edit Failure to create RAID0 Hello, I have got desktop with AMD RYZEN 9 3900X, GIGABYTE B450 AORUS PRO motherboard and two SSD disks Intel 660p M.2 2TB SSD NVMe. My intention was to create RAID0 with encrypted Btrfs on them. On the notebook I have encrypted LVM containing Btrfs root and swap. In the installation (TW snapshot available today for download) I selected manual disk selection, on first disk created /boot/efi and rest with RAID. Second disk I totally covered by RAID. I then created RAID0 array, and on it encrypted LVM with Btrfs root and swap. Yast was happy with my request and let me proceed, but on the beginning of the installation it crashed (see the attachment with 20200203_094042.jpg). As second trial I tried to create /boot/efi on the first disk, and cover the rest by LVM, second disk totally cover by LVM, and the encrypted LVM contained Btrfs and swap. Again, Yast seemed happy and let me proceed, but it crashed on the beginning of installation (see the attachment with 20200203_095903.jpg). As third trial I used guided setup to create same result as the second disk - use both disks, use encrypted LVM, etc. This worked well, and I got same state as was my proposal before. When I start the system, I'm asked for the password to unlock disk three times, which is weird. As I'm unlocking single LVM, I'd expect to be asked only once. I'm not sure if the installation is correct or if I will have to remake it. Of course, I'll be happy to provide any details and experiment to fix this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
