[Bug 778110] New: Flash player won't do full screen with dual screen xinerama
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=778110 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=778110#c0 Summary: Flash player won't do full screen with dual screen xinerama Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bkorb@gnu.org QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/21.0.1180.81 Safari/537.1 If you click on the "full screen" icon when playing flash video, it fills one of the two screens as expected. However, it is filled with only the left half of the video. The right half is never displayed, even if the screen used is the left one. You never see the right side. Ever. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. set up a dual head display in xinerama mode 2. play a you tube video 3. click on full screen Actual Results: You can only see the left half of the video Expected Results: The full size video on one display or the other. I waited to file this until Bug 761975 was considered "done" since new Adobe drivers were being pulled in. *sigh*. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However I need to clarify that I always install from scratch since upgrading has ALWAYS been problematic to me. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=778110 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=778110#c4 --- Comment #4 from Bruce Korb <bkorb@gnu.org> 2013-01-14 20:56:31 UTC --- Your comment encouraged me. It works now, but only because someone suggested symlinking ~/.adobe and ~/.macromedia to /tmp as a way of managing their secret config files. Having done that for 12.2, the problem has gone away. This leads me to think that the same thing may have fixed the issue for 12.1. Oh, well. So I would not consider this "fixed" until there were lots of warnings on some prominent page that can be readily found by Google. e.g. ============== Sometimes flash will mutilate its own configuration files. The easiest way to fix this is to remove the ~/.adobe and ~/.macromedia files in your home directory and sym link them to some place that gets purged regularly, like /tmp: rm -rf ~/.adobe ~/.macromedia ln -s /tmp ~/.adobe ln -s /tmp ~/.macromedia Nothing is kept in these directories that really needs keeping. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Anyway, the major blame goes to Adobe and it is "only" a config issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
