This occurs because of a wrong init.d path used for building, installing dirsrv-admin into /etc/rc.d/init.d/ instead of /etc/init.d/. As a workaround you can move dirsrv-admin into the right folder, using # mv /etc/rc.d/init.d/dirsrv-admin /etc/init.d/dirsrv-admin This only affects package versions prior 389-admin-1.1.31.3.1.
