--- Comment #44 from Joerg Reuter 2009-12-04 19:54:53 UTC ---
And with openSUSE 11.2 we're back where we started. I cannot get a working
German keymap at all.
With +kb, I have the correct layout, but no umlauts or other special characters
at all. setxkbmap "de(nodeadkeys)" results in the umlauts being present at the
right places, but an otherwise quite messed up layout...
With -kb, I get the umlaut-a where it belongs, but no umlaut-o, umlaut-ü, or
any other character not present on an American keyboard.
With .Xmodmap I can get as far as with -kb.
It's independent from the VNC client implementation.
Am I the only person on this planet who's using VNC with a non-American
keyboard or what?!
I'm currently using Xfvb/x11vnc, but it lets kwin crash (so I'm using xfce4
now) and tends to develop focus and "sticky key" problems after a while.
Tigervnc from buildservice crashes as soon as I press some key. NX is a pile of
stinkin'... which I cannot use in my environment. Can someone PLEASE fix
Xvnc/tightvnc?
